Tyrese Gould Jacinto, President and CEO
Tyrese Gould Jacinto is multifaceted and has a rich tapestry of accomplishments and contributions. As the President and CEO of the Native American Advancement Corp, a Native American Religious Conservation organization founded in 2010, Tyrese has dedicated her life to preserving and promoting Community Development, Native American heritage, and Conservation.
In addition to her leadership role, Tyrese is a prolific author, having penned 16 books that delve into various aspects of Native American culture, spirituality, and conservation. Her insights and wisdom extend beyond the written word, as she holds the esteemed title of an Ordained Mystic.
Tyrese is a literary force and an accomplished artist, recognized by the NJ Council of the Arts for her creative contributions as an Indigenous Folk Artist. As a rancher, she and her husband, Victor, are the proud owners of the Purépecha Unalachtigo Ranch, where she combines her passion for nature with sustainable practices.
Her commitment to community and environmental causes has garnered her several prestigious awards, including recognition from the Senate and Legislative bodies. Tyrese received the Boy Scouts of America Woman of Achievement award, highlighting her dedication to youth development.
Her impact goes beyond accolades, as Tyrese is celebrated as a Cumberland County Legend awardee and has earned a place in Marquis Who's Who for her outstanding achievements. Notably, she is the visionary behind the creation of the Cohanzick Nature Reserve and Longhouse Sanctuary, spaces that embody her commitment to environmental conservation.
As a Citizen of the Nanticoke Lenape Nation, Tyrese actively contributes to various councils, serving as a member of the NJ DCA WAP (Weatherization Assistance Policy Council), the NJ DEP EJAC (Environmental Justice Advisory Council), and NJ DEP ENSAC (Endangered and Nongame Species Advisory Committee).

Mark "Quiet Hawk" Gould, Chief of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indian Tribe of New Jersey, is a professionally trained carpenter who has owned his own contracting business. Since 2000, He is currently the Vice President and Weatherization Manager for Native American Advancement Corp. since 2009 and has expended over twenty million dollars of services to needy families. He is also Deputy Chief Officer of Turtle Associates, a construction company owned by the tribe. |
JOHN BARRY, IIIFinancial-HR ManagerJohn L Barry, Director of Operations
John L Barry, Financial-HR Manager, supervised ARRA, DOE, and HIP program development and reporting to DCA. He is the past Director of Community Development for the City of Bridgeton and served as Administrator for the US HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Besides, He served as Executive Director for the New Jersey DCA-Urban Enterprise Zone Program, managing a revolving loan portfolio and over nine economic development grant programs. |

Orwig Pierce - Board President 2010 – Present
Orwig M. Pierce IV, President was also elected to serve on the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Staff as the Tribal Bookkeeper working diligently to ensure the tribe is financially stable and sound. Orwig was also the Treasurer of the Ways and Means Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. Orwig was a teacher for the Title VII Native American Education Program located in the Fairfield School District where he was also once a student. The program tutors’ Native American students in reading and math, educates about Native cultures and instructs students in creating authentic Native crafts. A Drexel graduate with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing and Finance and a minor in Corporate Communication, Orwig was a Senior Auditor for a leading provider of compliance and internal audit services for Financial Institutions located in Moorestown, NJ. Orwig is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and has been instrumental in developing the Bank Secrecy & Anti-money Laundering practice for his employer. Orwig has contributed to developing audit programs and work-paper documents to standardize the practice. Being a staff member, Orwig understood he has wisdom to gain and knowledge to share. Orwig understands the importance of preserving the past while working hard in the present to provide for the future. |
Christy Pierce - Board Treasurer 2010 – Present
Christy T. Pierce is the treasurer and was elected to serve on the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Staff- At Large. As former Princess, Christy understands the importance of preserving her culture for the next seven generations. Christy dedicates her time and energies to educate the public on Native Traditions and Culture in hopes of breaking down stereotypical ideologies. A Rowan University graduate with a degree in Sociology and a Minor Spanish, Christy is a Bilingual Investigator for Cumberland County Public Defender’s Office- Law Guardian Unit. Christy advocates for children in Abuse/Neglect cases. Christy is a member of St. John United Methodist Church. Christy has recently been granted the opportunity to be a part of The North East Jurisdiction Task Force Executive Committee. Their mission statement is “Serve as a body that help guides Native Americans on the North East Jurisdiction to develop and maintain a relationship through the United Methodist Church”. She is also a member of CONAM (Committee on Native American Ministries) Speakers Bureau. |

Sylvia Loatman-Omer MS, CDA - Board Member 2022 - Present
Sylvia graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and a Master’s in Science Mental Health Counseling. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Certified Dental Assistant with over 25 years of experience.
